Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plan, and supervise the execution of company Hot-air Balloon flights in accordance with legal and company policies and procedures, authorized checklists and to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation.
2. Maintain familiarity with relevant international air legislation, agreed aviation practices and procedures and the Company Operations Manual.
3. Be responsible for the safety of all crew members and passengers onboard when the Hot-air Balloon is on flight.
4. Be responsible for the operation and safety of the Hot-air Balloon from the moment the Hot-air Balloon is ready to move for the purpose of taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the hot-air cylinders are shut down.
5. Have authority to disembark any person, or any part of the items onboard, which in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the Hot-air Balloon or its occupants.
6. Ensure that passengers are briefed on the location of emergency gadgets and the location and use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
7. Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with the Operations Manual.
8. Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the Hot-air Balloon and any required equipment is serviceable.
9. Confirm that the Hot-air Balloon performance will enable it to complete safely the proposed flight.
10. Ensure that the documents and Manuals are carried and will remain valid throughout the flight or series of flights.
11. Ensure that the pre-flight inspection has been carried out.
12. Not permit a Hot-air Balloon data gadgets to be disabled, switched off or erased during flight, or permit data to be erased after flight in the event of an accident or an incident subject to mandatory reporting.
13. In an emergency that requires immediate decision and action, take any action he/she considers necessary under the circumstances. In such cases he/she may deviate from rules, operational procedures, and methods in the interest of safety.
14. Have the authority to apply greater safety margins if he/she deems it necessary.
15. Ensure that a continuous listening watch is always maintained on the appropriate radio communication frequencies whenever the flight crew is manning the Hot-air Balloon for the purpose of commencing and/or conducting a flight and while taxiing.
16. Furnish a report pertaining to the flight for management actions
17. Ensure implementation of safety, security, and emergency standards at all times.Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities, and requirements of customer airlines.
