Overall purpose of the role
As a High Lift Truck Driver you will form part of our driving team within the operations function.
Your role will include delivering our restaurant quality food airside to aircrafts and making collections and deliveries as required to meet customer needs.
Principal accountabilities
- As a confident High Lift Truck Driver, you will be competent and comfortable driving in busy cities and at night. You will be required to ensure the timely delivery or collection of orders, whilst adhering to road and driving regulations.
- You must ensure all road restrictions are adhered to; that highway regulations including speed limits are met/not exceeded.
- Ensure airside rules and regulations are obeyed at all times.
- Complete the required food safety checks as directed. Complete all documentation issued by the operations team to ensure the company stays food safety compliant.
- Notify a senior manager of any changes to your driving license immediately. Whether this is for medical purposes, points; restrictions or driving bans. Bi-annual license checks will be conducted.
- Complete any vehicles checks as specified by management each time you use a company vehicle. (‘Vehicle check sheet’) this is to ensure the vehicle is safe and road worthy.
- Report all concerns regarding vehicles immediately to a member of the management team. Also ensure vehicle is removed from use until remedial action has been taken.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness inside and out. Our vehicles are seen by customers at point of delivery so must be presentable and clean.
- Support the kitchen team as required with shopping, packing and general Kitchen Assistant activities as required.
- In the event of a breakdown or accident, you must ensure the safety of yourself and others before taking steps to report the incident.
- Due to the nature of the business there is a duty of confidentiality, details of our customers or flights must not be discussed with any one outside of the company.
- Use High Lift Truck Driver’s pack to ensure all delivery detail is to hand. This will list all food for delivery and where this can be found in the kitchen.
- Any damage to company vehicles or equipment must be reported, no matter how small it is believed to be.
- Complete ‘screening’ for secured flights as and when required as per CAA (civil aviation authority) rules this cannot be done for own delivery.
- This is a customer facing role. You must ensure you present yourself and the company professionally at all times, including a clean uniform.
- Responsible for own and others Health and Safety.
- Able and willing to complete the necessary food safety and manual handing training.
- Carry out any other reasonable request as directed by any of the management team.
Person specification
- Computer literate, experience of using Outlook.
- Clean UK driving licence; aged 25 or over for company vehicle insurance purposes.
- Self-motivated, reliable, ability to use initiative and work well under a degree of pressure.
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities.
- Able and willing to complete HGV, including passing required medical.
Salary £22,000 – £24,000 dependent on experience. £25,000 if HGV qualified.
