Job Title: Chef de Partie (CDP)

Location: Shrewsbury

Reports to: Sous Chef or Head Chef

Position Overview:

The Chef de Partie (CDP) is responsible for a specific section or station in the kitchen and plays a crucial role in food production and preparation. The CDP ensures that all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards, and assists in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Production:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked and presented consistently and meet quality standards.
  • Assist in planning and organizing daily production to meet customer demand.
  1. Station Management:
  • Take ownership of a specific section or station in the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, pastry, etc.
  • Oversee the operations of the assigned station, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the Sous Chef or Head Chef regarding ingredient needs.
  1. Kitchen Operations:
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating supplies.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef, Head Chef, and other team members.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong culinary skills and proficiency in a specific section or station.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
