Key Responsibilities

Head Chef

The successful Head Chefs will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the kitchen operation.
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Managing and developing the kitchen team.
  • Planning and overseeing food preparation and service.
  • Ensuring effective stock, food-cost and waste management.
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene, food safety and health & safety standards.
  • Supporting menu development and implementation.
  • Ensuring efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
  • Working closely with the wider management team to achieve operational and commercial objectives.

Sous Chef

The successful Sous Chef will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
  • Supervising and motivating members of the kitchen brigade.
  • Maintaining excellent food preparation, cooking and presentation standards.
  • Supporting stock control and minimising food wastage.
  • Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety requirements are consistently followed.
  • Assisting with menu preparation and kitchen organisation.
  • Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Relevant professional experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen position.
  • Strong culinary and food preparation skills.
  • Experience working within a professional hospitality or commercial kitchen environment.
  • Good leadership and team-management capabilities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to food quality, consistency, hygiene and customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
