About the Role
Our client, a renowned Luxury Boutique Hotel in Shrewsbury, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing team. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality finance, accuracy in bookkeeping, and supporting management with data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and transaction logs.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Manage payroll processing and statutory submissions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and hotel policies.
- Liaise with auditors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Provide financial insights to management for decision-making.
- Contribute to improving financial processes and controls.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.
- Experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Understanding of payroll and HMRC compliance.
