Key Responsibilities
Head Chef
The successful Head Chefs will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the kitchen operation.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Managing and developing the kitchen team.
- Planning and overseeing food preparation and service.
- Ensuring effective stock, food-cost and waste management.
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene, food safety and health & safety standards.
- Supporting menu development and implementation.
- Ensuring efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Working closely with the wider management team to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
Sous Chef
The successful Sous Chef will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
- Supervising and motivating members of the kitchen brigade.
- Maintaining excellent food preparation, cooking and presentation standards.
- Supporting stock control and minimising food wastage.
- Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety requirements are consistently followed.
- Assisting with menu preparation and kitchen organisation.
- Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Relevant professional experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen position.
- Strong culinary and food preparation skills.
- Experience working within a professional hospitality or commercial kitchen environment.
- Good leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to food quality, consistency, hygiene and customer satisfaction.
- The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
