Rate of Pay: –

Starting Rates will be: –

  • £29500 – £30000

  • The hotels normally keep good occupancy year around and therefore we can offer a stable and reliable working environment.
  • The majority of our kitchen staff have been with is for 10+ years, some have been with us for 25+ years. We therefore have a very stable and experienced team, which we are looking to add to.

Accommodation can be provided: –

  • Single en-suite rooms available (communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities – £50 per week rent, all bills included).
  • Double en-suite rooms available for ‘couples’ ((communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities – £40 each per week rent, all bills included). Other potential positions available for a partner.
  • The staff Accommodation has recently been refurbished and is in good condition.

Duties: –

  • Breakfast Chef duties – cooking 'full English' items for Hotel Guests (buffet service as opposed to 'cook to order').
  • Preparing sauces and gravies for evening meals.
  • Communicating with Dining Room Staff regarding items they need more of (e.g. to ensure the buffet is stocked for guests to self-serve their meals).
  • Cooking main buffet items (e.g. lasagne’s, cottage pies, pasta dishes etc).
  • Keeping a clean workspace.
  • Following all UK food safety guidance.

Hours: –

  • FULL-TIME – Shift Work. Normal working week will be 5 days, although 4-6 may be required depending on hotel occupancy.
  • Due to the nature of the job it will include regular weekend shifts as well as midweek, shifts are 6.00am-2.30pm/3.00pm and 1.00pm-9.00pm/9.30pm.

Person Specification: –

  • Fast worker – essential, as we cater for large numbers when the hotels are busy.
  • Looking for an honest, hardworking individual.
  • Someone who is flexible in terms of working hours.
  • Previous kitchen experience essential (preferably including breakfast chef/large scale buffet catering experience)
  • Scope to progress/for promotion
  • This role often appeals to experienced caterer’s, who are perhaps looking to move away from the stressful 'ticket-line' environment, and who might therefore be looking for a more routine job, which tends to help with improving work-life balance.
