Job Summary:

The Financial Manager will oversee and enhance the financial health of the organization through strategic financial management, financial administration, and operational oversight. This role combines expertise in financial and management accounting, budgeting, and business planning to support profitability, sustainability, and organizational growth. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the executive team, contribute to strategic decision-making, and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the company. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial and Management Accounting
    • Prepare and present comprehensive management accounts to the CEO and executive team on a monthly basis.
    • Develop, maintain, and report on the organization’s financial risk register, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of potential financial risks.
    • Lead financial accounting tasks, including reconciliation, financial reporting, and adherence to accounting standards.
    • Prepare end-of-year financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and ensure timely submission to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

  1. Financial Administration

    • Oversee day-to-day financial administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial transactions, records, and reporting.
    • Manage the bookkeeper to ensure all financial activities align with organizational policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the timely payment of bills, processing of invoices, and management of vendor accounts.

  1. Budgeting and Business Planning

    • Collaborate with management to develop and implement annual budgets aligned with organizational goals.
    • Support budgetary control by monitoring performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
    • Lead financial forecasting activities to inform strategic business planning and decision-making.
    • Contribute to business planning by developing financial models and supporting the creation of business cases for new services and products.
  1. Strategic Support
    • Develop and analyze business cases for new services and products, ensuring profitability and sustainability, including pricing structure recommendations.
    • Engage cross-functional teams in identifying and delivering cost-efficiency and savings strategies.
    • Provide financial oversight and advisory support to the product and sales departments to optimize profitability and performance.
  2. Operational Oversight
    • Oversee the medical billing and collections team, ensuring the timely recording, processing, and reporting of claims.
    • Ensure all financial operations are conducted in compliance with organizational procedures and applicable regulations.
  3. Analysis and Reporting
    • Conduct financial controller exercises, including audits and financial health checks, to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
    • Analyze profitability and performance metrics to provide insights for continuous improvement.
    • Prepare detailed end-of-year financial reports, ensuring all components are accurate, complete, and presented effectively for strategic review.
    • Prepare regular financial reports tailored to the needs of the CEO, executive team, and external stakeholders.
  4. Team Leadership
    • Foster a collaborative environment among the finance team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and professional integrity.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management or a related role.
    • Proven expertise in financial and management accounting, budgeting, business planning, and forecasting.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in financial systems and software, with advanced Excel skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Salary and Benefits:

    • Salary range between BMD$9,600 – $24,000 (approximately BMD$4.62 – $11.54 per hour) dependent on experience and negotiable.

Contract Terms:

    • Two-year contract with a provision for extension
