Position Title: Electrician

Reports to: Chief Engineer
Principal Responsibilities & Purpose

Maintain, repair, install, and test electrical equipment and systems to ensure safe and proper operation.

Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards or defects, taking prompt corrective or preventive action to maintain safety standards.
Essential Functions
30% – Guest Requests
-
Respond to guest electrical repair needs across the facility.
-
Provide timely and courteous service for all electrical requirements.
-
Set up and dismantle power and lighting equipment for events and banqueting functions.
30% – Preventive Maintenance
-
Perform regular maintenance and testing of electrical systems, subsystems, and equipment.
-
Disassemble, replace, clean, and repair components as needed.
-
Inspect components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
30% – Repairs and Troubleshooting
-
Detect malfunctions and hazards using various testing devices.
-
Repair and maintain electrical systems according to wiring diagrams, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
-
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
10% – Lighting Maintenance
-
Replace burned-out bulbs and repair or replace faulty light fixtures to maintain lighting standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an electrician; building or hospitality sector experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, building plans, and wiring diagrams.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
-
Able to work in challenging environments such as heights and confined spaces.
Qualifications
Education: School Certificate or equivalent preferred; Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Installation from a recognized institution.
Licenses/Certificates: None required.
